Although we do not have a service of Evening Prayer at either St. Andrew’s Swanwick or St. Matthew’s Pentrich, here follows a brief description of a typical service. You will also find below information about the daily prayer cycle of the Church of England.
Evening Prayer is a reflective service which uses traditional texts such as the Nunc Dimitis (the Song of Simeon – Luke 2:29-32) and the Magnificat (Mary’s song – Luke 1.46-55) through which we focus our worship and prayers.
The service is taken from either the Book of Common Prayer or Common Worship
